Water Equipment Monitoring

American Innovations Bullhorn RM2020 and APM4AM wireless remote monitoring units monitor a variety of assets in the water industry by utilizing reliable satellite or digital cellular networks to communicate measurement results.

The RM2020 and APM4AM monitor lift stations, pumps, water meters, irrigation systems, storage tanks, liquid flow measurements, water samplers and more.

The RM2020 utilizes the low-cost Orbcomm satellite network, while the APM4AM units employ the low-latency Inmarsat geostationary satellite network or a digital cellular network to communicate. Both feature six input channels: 4 analog (1-4), 2 digital (5-6). Channel 5 can be digital or accumulator, and channel 6 accumulator or accumulator reset.

Both communicate data to the Bullhorn web interface: Bullhorn Asset Tracker (BAT™). BAT provides for immediate, in-depth visibility of unit status and alarms and provides a proven backend system to collect, store and generate reports on equipment data.

Bullhorn can be used to extend established SCADA systems. The RM2020 and APM4AM units can enhance SCADA functionality by monitoring equipment in regions not yet integrated into a full system and communicating data from BAT into pre-existing software. In addition, Bullhorn can often meets the needs of smaller and mid-size companies and utilities who don't have the capital to invest in a large-scale SCADA system but need critical equipment data.

To monitor Cathodic Protection (CP) equipment for water pipelines, AI recommends the Bullhorn RM4020 and 4010 units.
