LACT Meter Monitoring

Bullhorn AMR6 Monitoring LACT MeterBy monitoring LACT Meter (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) oil volume input on a daily basis, operators can track the number of barrels that move into the pipeline accurately and inexpensively and address potential inconsistencies.

The AMR6 unit receives pulse communications from the LACT meter and converts pulse counts to barrels of oil. The unit reports the number of pulses from the LACT meter that occur during a user-defined time period, often set to 24 hours for LACT meter applications. The device communicates measurement results through low-latency digital cellular or satellite networks. The units feature 6 digits of meter resolution for daily data reporting and can ensure readings across multiple meters are comparable.

The data is then communicated wirelessly to Bullhorn Asset Tracker (BAT™), the powerful web-based asset management interface for Bullhorn. BAT provides immediate, in-depth visibility of unit status and alarms, and a proven backend system to collect, store and generate reports on equipment data. Notifications of pre-set alarm conditions are sent via email, voice and/or text message. Users have on-the-go access to BAT in a smartphone optimized format via BAT™mobile, and BAT™txt allows customers to communicate with units via SMS, even in low signal areas. The BAT system is also capable of an ftp transfer of data from into gas databases.

Bullhorn can be used to extend established SCADA systems. AMR6 units can enhance SCADA functionality by monitoring LACT Meters (or other oil and gas equipment) in regions not yet integrated into a full system and communicating data from Bullhorn Asset Tracker into pre-existing software.
