American Innovations (AI) is a privately held company based in Austin, TX with offices in Littleton, CO, Longview, TX, and Houston, TX. We provide business solutions to various markets and industries with a focus on the oil and gas industry. Our solutions include: Bullhorn Wireless Remote Monitoring, Allegro Field Data PC, Pipeline Compliance System (PCS), MicroMax Current Interrupters and Risk Intelligence Platform (RIPL).
AI was founded in the late 1980s with the goal of inventing a microprocessor-based system for automated electricity metering. The AIMetering System was introduced commercially in 1990.
Over the next ten years, the AIMetering System developed into a leading solution for automated electricity metering. In 2002, American Innovations introduced the Bullhorn Wireless Remote Monitoring System.

In 1994, AI was acquired by HM International. HMI is a privately-held company founded in 1979 with the objective of acquiring undervalued assets and creating value through strong, decentralized management and a long term investment focus. HMI has controlling interest in a variety of businesses with combined sales of almost $1 billion.
AI is organized in two divisions: the Remote Monitoring Division (RMD) and Compliance Technology Division (CTD). The divisions work together to share knowledge about the industry and ensure that all products work together to form seamless solutions.
AI acquired the PCS, Allegro and RIPL product lines, now managed by the Compliance Technology Division, through the acquisition of Bass-Trigon in 2003. AI acquired the assets of Bass-Trigon Software (BTS) from Corrpro Companies. BTS was formed through the merger of two leading companies: Bass Software and Trigon Software.
In 2004, AI acquired the assets of Envirosense, a leader in current interruption and remote current interruption. The Envirosense products and services have been folded into the Remote Monitoring Division. AI also acquired a controlling interest in Bass Engineering in 2005. Bass Engineering is a Longview, TX-based company that has been providing cathodic protection materials, engineering and construction services since 1967.
In 2008, AI acquired the assets of Intelek. Intelek provided complete solutions for monitoring remote fixed assets with wireless communication technologies for the oil & gas, agriculture and utilities industries. All former Intelek product lines are managed by the Remote Monitoring Division
