Latest Allegro Field Data PC Release Adds DCVG (Direct Current Voltage Gradient) Survey Capabilities
Austin, TX; July 23rd, 2010 – American Innovations’ Field Data Division, a leading provider of products and services for pipeline industries, announces the addition of DCVG (Direct Current Voltage Gradient) Survey capabilities to the Allegro Field Data PC. Allegro is a versatile field computer used by oil and gas pipeline industry leaders to capture critical pipeline and facility data.
With the addition of the DCVG module, users can locate and size coating defects along pipelines. The new module is compatible with the CX and MX versions of the Allegro Field Data PC. DCVG builds upon the periodic and close interval survey capabilities already available on the Allegro. During surveys, the DCVG module records the Voltage Gradient and GPS location. Unlike the traditional analog meter, the Allegro captures each reading for further review and analysis. Setup and operation of DCVG survey is simple and requires no additional training for users. This software update is available to all current users of Allegro MX and CX.
"The DCVG software was developed with the help of several industry champions from oil and gas transmission and distribution sectors, and meets the requirements of both industries," explained Steve Hamblin, Director of Sales for AI's Field Data Division.
"We responded to clients' requests to add the new module as part of the standard software provided on the Allegro, and give users an easy way to setup and perform DCVG surveys. Having the capability to record the values and GPS location for each reading provides validation, and the ability to review the entire survey by others are key features that they requested."
Survey data from the Allegro Field Data PC is easily ported to AI's Pipeline Compliance System (PCS) software, an indispensible tool for managing the large quantities of compliance information collected for natural gas, hazardous liquids and other underground pipeline systems.
