Next Generation Bullhorn® ICP Remote Monitoring Device Features Two-Way Communication & On-Demand Reads

AUSTIN, TX – October 7, 2008: American Innovations´ Field Data Division (FDD), leading provider of products and services for pipeline industries, has released the next generation of its popular Bullhorn® ICP remote monitoring device, the “ICP+”.

The ICP+ is a wireless remote monitoring device that enables equipment monitoring & control worldwide. The patented ICP device, acquired from Envirosense, LLC in 2004, was designed specifically for cathodic protection (CP) applications and became a key part of the i-series Integrated Survey Solutions provided by FDD. The ICP+ has a number of important new features for CP monitoring including built-in outage detection and interruption verification. A MicroMax® GPS80 current interrupter from FDD can be added to the device to allow the collection of IR-free cathodic protection reads; the GPS80 can be added either at the factory or as a field upgrade.

The ICP+ was also designed to be used for a broader set of applications than just cathodic protection monitoring. It provides scheduled and by exception inbound reporting as well as two-way communication for on-demand reads and remote activating/deactivating ancillary equipment. Each ICP+ includes 2 analog channels and can be expanded up to 4 analog channels. It has integrated AC outage sense and can be upgraded to include an auxiliary I/O module providing 1 analog output, 5 discrete inputs and 2 discrete outputs.

As with all Bullhorn remote monitoring devices, the ICP+ provides automatic notifications of alarm events via email, cell phone or pager and with secure access, data can be viewed on the internet from anywhere in the world, day or night.

“We designed this product to provide the high degree of functionality and ease-of-use required by our customers for CP applications,” explained Ken Cowan, President of AI's Field Data Division. “The ICP+ provides two-way communication, allowing users to perform synchronous remote interruption on multiple rectifiers with a click of the mouse, and to reconfigure units without ever visiting the site. Additionally, the modular design makes the ICP+ easily customizable to monitor industrial equipment outside cathodic protection.”

The ICP+ is compatible with the AC Monitor, which converts AC voltage data into DC voltage data. Analog inputs are available with filtering and surge protection. In lightning prone areas, a 2 or 4 channel ICP Isolator may be added to provide 10KV of additional surge isolation.
