American Innovations Donates Over $5000 to Area Non-Profits Through Employee Matching
Austin, TX – January 19, 2009: American Innovations, the leading provider of products and services for pipeline, water and agriculture industries, donated over $5000 in December of 2008 to area non-profits, Austin Children's Shelter, and Caritas of Austin. Employees and management participated in selecting the charities that would receive the matching funds.
“During difficult times like these, it is heartening to see that our employees think about providing for others less fortunate than themselves,” said American Innovations President Rich Smalling. “We are proud to make a meaningful contribution to our community.”
The Austin Children's Shelter has provided emergency shelter, high quality care and hope for the future to the abandoned, abused and neglected children of the community since 1984. In 2009, ACS will not only celebrate 25 years of service to children but will also open its new facility to care for more children who need a safe haven. The Shelter provides a variety of critical services and programs to children from birth to 17 years old in need of emergency placement.
“We are so grateful for the support we’ve received from American Innovations and its employees,” said Austin Children's Shelter Corporate Giving Manager Kelly Smith. “Their gift will help ensure that the children in our care will have an opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.”
Caritas of Austin envisions a community where there is respect for all individuals, hope for those experiencing poverty and opportunities for self-reliance. They provide a service continuum for those experiencing poverty that begins with a safety net and links them to resources to achieve self-sufficiency. This includes providing food, job training, therapy and other social services necessary to achieving that result. In addition to the monetary donation, AI employees also conducted a successful food drive for the organization.
American Innovations is committed to being an integral part of the Austin community and helping those in need. For any questions or donation requests, please contact Community Service Officer Anna Giuliani by phone (512-249-3489) or email.
