AI Introduces New "BATtxt" Cell Phone Application for Website Users
Users have instant access to unit information, status & more from any mobile phone
AUSTIN, TX; September 10th, 2010 – American Innovations’ Field Data Division (FDD), a leading provider of products and services for pipeline industries, introduced the BATtxt application for its Bullhorn Asset Tracker (BAT) website. BAT is an asset management interface for AI's Bullhorn Wireless Remote Monitoring System, which monitors and collects data from oil & gas, water and wastewater, and agricultural assets. BAT provides immediate, in-depth visibility of unit status and offers a proven backend system to collect, store and report on crucial equipment data.
The BATtxt application allows users to interact with BAT via mobile phone to acquire information about their Bullhorn Remote Monitoring unit, including the activity and current channel values. Users can also turn notifications on and off and acknowledge alarms. Texting is an ideal method of communication in the field, particularly in remote areas where mobile networks exist, but do not provide enough signal strength for a phone call or a GPRS data connection. In general, texting is often possible in low signal areas.
 Users can access Bullhorn unit data using one of seven different commands. Text commands include:
• help: a list of BATtxt command
• info: current operating status
• activity: number of packets transmitted in 24hrs/1 wk/1 mo.
• data: current status of active data points
• techhelp: requests Tech Support help
• notifyon: turn on unit alert notifications
• notifyoff: turn off unit alert notifications
